Nastar (Pineapple Cookies) Recipe With Ingredients

Pineapple tart cookies are Chinese New Year must have cookies. Nastar are pineapple jam filled cookies.



Nastar

Ingredients: Fruits
Prep Time: 4 hours

Total Time: 7 hours
Serves: 100 cookies

Ingredients:

Pineapple jam (make 700 gram)
  • 1 ripe pineapple, flesh only, about 1.5 kilogram
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves (optional)
  • 200 gram brown sugar, or to taste
Cookie dough (make 1 kilogram)
  • 350 gram unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 100 gram sweet condensed milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 510 gram all purpose flour
Egg wash
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon milk


How To Make Nastar (Pineapple Cookies):

Pineapple jam:
  1. In a food processor/blender, puree pineapple. Transfer pineapple puree into a heavy bottom pot along with cinnamon stick, cloves, and brown sugar.
  2. Turn on heat to medium and cook until boiling. Reduce heat to a simmer and continue cooking until the jam is really thick. Add more sugar if needed. Near the end, be sure to stir and scrap frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Transfer jam to a mixing bowl to cool. To speed up the cooling process, you can wrap the bowl with a saran wrap and chill in the fridge.
  4. Once the jam is cool to touch, line a baking tray with parchment paper, scoop a bit of jam (roughly 7 gram each) and make round ball, then place it on the prepared tray. Repeat until the jam is used up. If you prepare are going to prepare the cookie dough on the next day, you can cover the baking tray with a saran wrap and return the tray to the fridge.
Cookie dough:
  1. Beat together butter and condensed milk until light and fluffy. Add egg, one and a time, beat until well mixed. Slowly add all purpose flour in batches into the mixture, beat until the dough becomes smooth, but not sticky. I find it easier if I just use my hand to incorporate the last batch of flour into the dough.
  2. Scoop 10 gram of dough and make a round ball. Repeat until dough is used up.
  3. Prepare 2 baking sheets, each lined with a parchment paper.
  4. Flatten each dough, place the pineapple jam filling at the center, gather the edges of the dough and wrap the filling with the dough. Roll into a round ball, then place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat for the rest of dough and jam filling.
  5. Mix egg yolk and milk together to make the egg wash. Brush the top of cookies with egg wash.
  6. Preheat oven to 165 Celsius (325 Fahrenheit). Bake the cookies for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let the cookies cool completely before storing them in nice looking jars.

Lemon and Coriander Soup ( Vitamin C Rich) Recipe With Ingredients

Ingredients:

For Lemon and Coriander Soup
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander (dhania)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
  • 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
  • 3 cups basic vegetable stock
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp cornflour dissolved in 2 tbsp water (optional)

Instructions:

For lemon and coriander soup
  1. For making lemon and coriander soup, heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the garlic and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
  2. Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add the cabbage and carrots and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  4. Add the basic vegetable stock, lemon juice, salt and cornflour-water mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Add the coriander and mix well.
  5. Serve the lemon and coriander soup immediately.

Tips to make lemon coriander soup:

  • For slightly thicken the soup you can add cornflour paste (corn starch slurry).
  • you can add your choice of veggies like 1.5 to 1.75 cups of chopped mix vegetables like cabbage, corn, baby corn, broccoli, carrots, snap peas, green peas, spinach, bok choy, cauliflower and mushrooms. a mix bag of different varieties of mushrooms can also be used.
  • adding lemongrass stalk is optional.
  • if you have homemade vegetable stock, you can use it.
  • some red chilli powder or cayenne pepper can also be added to increase the spiciness.
  • add the amount of lemon juice as per your taste buds.
  • you can even use a vegetarian or vegan bouillon cubes if you want. i do not use them as monosodium glutamate (msg or ajinomoto), artificial flavors, additives and preservatives are added in them.
  • you can even add some more herbs like parsley or thyme.
  • a small onion can be added instead of spring onions (scallions).

Veg Fried Rice

INGREDIENTS

FOR COOKING RICE:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 tsp  oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • water for soaking & boiling

FOR FRIED RICE:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • ¼ carrot, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp peas / matar
  • 5 beans, chopped
  • ¼ capsicum, finely chopped
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp pepper, crushed
  • ¼ tsp salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and stir-fry 2 clove garlic.
  2. also, saute ½ onion and 2 tbsp spring onion until they sweat.
  3. furthermore add vegetables of your choice like ¼ carrot, 2 tbsp cabbage, 2 tbsp peas, 5 beans, ¼ capsicum and ½ tsp salt.
  4. stir fry on high flame without overcooking vegetables.
  5. now add 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp vinegar. stir-fry until the sauce is combined well.
  6. keeping the flame on high, add cooked rice.
  7. also, add 1 tsp pepper and ¼ tsp salt. adjust the salt as soy sauce has salt.
  8. stir-fry by mixing well making sure rice grains won't break.
  9. further, add 2 tbsp spring onions and mix well.
  10. finally, enjoy veg fried rice.

Notes:

  • firstly, make sure to cool the rice completely or use leftover rice to prepare fried rice.
  • also, add vegetables of your choice like broccoli, snow pea or corn.
  • additionally, stir-fry the vegetables without overcooking.
  • finally, veg fried rice recipe tastes great when prepared with a variety of vegetables.

Chowmein| Vegetable Chowmein Recipe With Ingredients

A Chinese stir-fried noodle dish which is now a popular street food dish across the globe, specifically in Asia. Being a popular dish across countries, Chow mein is made in different ways with many different variations in different places, this one here is the quickest and easiest chowmein recipe, made under 30 minutes. Ingredients Of Vegetable Chowmein: 


  • 200 Gram Fresh noodles 
  • 5 Cups Water 
  • 1 tsp Salt 
  • 2 Tbsp Oil 
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste 
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder 
  • 1/4 Cup Onion, sliced 
  • 1/2 tsp Soy sauce 
  • 1 tsp Salt 
  • 1/4 Cup Celery, chopped 
  • 1 tsp Vinegar 
  • 1 tsp Chilli sauce 
  • 1 Cup Green and red capsicum 
  • 1 Cup Mushroom 
  • 1 Cup Carrot, shredded 
  • 1 Green chillies, chopped 
  • 1 Tbsp Tomato sauce 
  • 1 Tbsp Spring onion
  • 1 tsp Garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder

How to Make Vegetable Chowmein:

1.Take water in a pan, add salt followed by olive oil and bring to boil.
2.Add noodles and cook 'bite like' -- just blanch if fresh and cook longer if dry.
3.Drain immediately and cool under running water till noodles are thoroughly cooled.
4.Work 1 tablespoon of the oil into the noodles and leave in the colander till required.
5.Keep aside a small bowl of green chilli dipped in vinegar for garnishing.
6.Now, heat some oil in a heavy bottom pan and stir- fry garlic, ginger garlic paste and onions over high heat till onions are golden brown.
7.Add celery and mushrooms followed by red and green capsicum along with carrot. Stir well.
8.Now add salt, black pepper powder, tomato sauce, chilli sauce, soy sauce and vinegar to veggie mixture. Mix well.
9.Add the noodles to this and stir well till it is thoroughly mixed.
10.Garnish with red capsicum and pour the prepared green-chilli vinegar mix on top.
11.Serve hot.

Chilli Chicken Recipe with Ingredients

Chilli Chicken is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese styled chicken appetizer or starter. This delicious chicken recipe is very popular in the chinese restaurants but with this easy recipe you can make it at the comfort of your home according to your own taste. Chicken pieces are marinated in a mix of soy sauce, chilli sauce along with pepper and these tender, succulent pieces are then deep fried to be seasoned with the sauces again.

CHILLI CHICKEN

Ingredients :

  • 350 Gram boneless Chicken (diced)
  • 1 Egg (slightly beaten)
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic Paste
  • 1/2 tsp ginger Paste
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • To deep fry oil
  • 2 cups onions, sliced
  • 2 tsp green Chillies, sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (adjust according to strength)
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • for garnishing green Chillies

How to Make Chilli Chicken:

1.Mix together the chicken, egg, cornflour, ginger and garlic paste, 2 tsp salt, and enough water so that the chicken pieces are coated with the batter. Leave this for about 30 minutes.
2.Heat oil in a wok or a pan and deep-fry the chicken pieces over high heat to begin with and then lower the flame. Fry until the chicken is cooked through. Drain on absorbent paper.
3.Heat 2 Tbsp of oil in a wok, add onions and stir-fry over high heat until they are translucent.
4.Add the green chillies and saute for a minute.
5.Add salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and the deep-fried chicken, and toss well.
6.Serve hot, garnished with the green chillies.

RECIPE NOTES:
You can serve this chilli chicken recipe with some fried rice or vegetable noodles.
